Our Bedroom

Cor, gets more real by the day! This, folks, is the door (which will be glass doors) from our bedroom onto the terrace! If you sort of squint you can sort of imagine how fab that'll be with a cup a chah/glass of wine in your hand looking at the fab views. Just wish we'd win the euromillions so I could click my fingers and it'd be done tomorrow! Well, at least its got started - all the brambles have gone, so at least our builder can get his scaffolding up.

Dave's New Transport

No, he hasn't gone and bought a Ferrari, it's a bicycle we found in the scrub which will eventually be a garden.... Needs a bit of work, maybe a new tyre or two, but it'll shine up lovely for the daily trip to fetch the baguette. D'ye think I should get him a beret?

Also, we have a ton of plum and fig trees on the land, so if anyone fancies scrumping Dave's plums (ahem, sorry) in the autumn, please feel free to drop by - there is no way we can possibly eat/make into jam/chutney all that fruit.

Bob(s) the Builder(s)

Can we fix it? Hope so! Have been setting up our site office today - oooooo! Its a trestle table & a porta-loo.... Also set up inside lighting and moved a fair bit of rubble. Posed for this pic outside the house with our big tools.

French Approved Plumbing

This is the only water supply to the house & barn at the moment. Seriously, this sink looks clean compared to the rest of the place! Thinking we might need a bit more than Cilit Bang for this 'un - maybe a grenade??

As well as the tatty old barn we have to renovate, we also got a pretty little farmhouse (there's a small road between the two properties). The farmhouse looks lovely in the sunshine doesn't it? Inside its got no indoor plumbing save for ONE tap and great big holes in the floors. Nice.

Apparently, it belonged to a couple of old guys who hid arms for the Resistance during the war. We thought this was a bit of a rumour, but have since been convinced by various aged locals that it might be a good plan to get the Gendarmes to search the stone boundary walls for the missing grenade cache......

The interior of the barn is why we decided to buy the place. It might not look much at the moment, but the A-frames are fanbloomintastic! It'll be floor to ceiling for approximately a third of the barn so we'll be able to admire the wonky old wood....

The Race is on!

Right, we've bought our wreck now too, so the race is on between us and Dan & Laura as to who will be in their money pit first......

Work starts clearing all the sheep poo & 100 year old cobwebs on Monday. Will be wearing lots of protective clothing!
